We are a small, friendly choral society based in the village of South Nutfield, close to Redhill in Surrey. We typically have around 35 regular members from the village and the surrounding area and sing a wide variety of sacred and secular music ranging from works such as Fauré’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah to part-songs, madrigals, stage music, great works such as Britten's Ceremony of Carols, Tippett's Five Spirituals from A Child of our Time and Jenkins Armed Man. See Music Performed for further information.
We rehearse in a lovely Community Centre attached to Christ Church, South Nutfield on Monday evenings from 7.50pm to 9.50 pm. Normally, the choir performs two concerts each year, one in early December, the other in May. Although, we have recently been performing a second concert in both December and May in St Matthew's Church, Redhill.
Our concerts are usually held in Christ Church, South Nutfield (which has an excellent organ and good acoustics). Additionally, we are sometimes invited to participate in other local musical activities such as carol services and singing in local homes. We are fortunate to have a most experienced and inspiring conductor, Sue Hughes, who has a lifetime’s experience of choral conducting and music teaching. She has enormous energy and enthusiasm for South Nutfield Choral Society and sets very high standards for us to aim for.

We are always delighted to welcome new members who are willing to make a regular commitment to the choir. No auditions are required, but it is beneficial to have had some experience of singing. Our members range from experienced singers to those with more limited choral and musical experience. If you are interested in joining the choir or attending our concerts, please do get in touch. You are assured of a most warm welcome.
